Sepi ...... (A Discussion of Our Careers)

Sepi banget hati gue.... Membuat gue berpikir-ulang lagi untuk menetap lebih lama disini. Padahal baru kemaren gue mendapatkan drive dan tiba2 mulai research companies and jobs. Dan padahal setelah sekian lama, baru akhir2 ini gue mulai nyiap2in cover letter dan bbrp online application. You could say I'm ready to apply now.. But, I dont know.. London's so lame...
I'm missing myself... My old self..

I couldnt relate... still couldnt..
Jakarta is just too good for me.. It has always been. . . . . I love Bandung so much.. and I know I could probably love London one day... But speaking of career and social life.. whoaaa.. there's just no limit for that in Jakarta.. sky is the limit.

Here,.. you could never go anywhere.. here, you're stuck... You can get money.. high salary... but you're stuck.
The networking you could get from being in Jakarta could be 3 times bigger you the network you could make here. Plus, your network in Jakarta would be much more beneficial for your future?.. Now how could your former employer here help you one day, 10 yrs from now, if you're running business in Jkt?.. slight chance they could help u, rite?
Here,.... could you be one day, an executive director of say, Merryl Lynch..or maybe JP Morgan,.. somehwere in the CIty?.... probably not ..
Could you be a CEO of IBM Indonesia, one day? Could you be the owner of a succesful developer in Indonesia? A succesful investor respected in the Jakarta business scene? .... chances are much more likely.

Here, .. you could go to pubs with your friends, rite?. that's social life.. you could go clubbing..... but you're stuck...
Now how could your english, scottish, wales friends one day help you,.. if you are in jkt?.. how could your british indian friends help u one day if your business is in Jkt?.. tough chance.. Even the british Indians are stuggling to be respected here.. I dont see how you, me, us could have more chance than them.

PROs and CONs:

***LONDON ***
CONs:
-Di London lo jadi kacung
-kehilangan kesempatan networking (compared if u are in Indo, ini juga tergantung berapa lama mau kerja disini)
-karir lo berkembang lambat(bahkan bisa stuck di suatu titik), namun...

PROS:
-pengetahuan bisa berkembang cepat (lebih karena fakta bhw you're working in a new and different environment-not necessarily better knowledge),
-lo menjadi lebih mature (walau lebih individualistis-Ibaratnya sampe jkt paling2 jadi cengo lagi),
-dan alasan paling penting dari semuanya.. tabungan gaji yang banyakkkkkkk.. nyam nyam nyam...

***JAKARTA***
PROs:
-Di jakarta, skies are the limit.. lo bisa ngapain aja.. , progress career leih cepet (lebih cepet naek gaji dan naek posisi-if ur smart that is),
-kesempatan buat lo buka bisnis jelas lebih viable,
-you could get respect easliy from the industry you're working in (in UK, ur struggling to get ur respect), ..
-networking lebih berguna (karena org2 yg lo ketemu could definitely be ur future clients, future partners, future employee, future competitors) ....
-Social life much much better (you could do whatever u want, be whatever u want to be) .... Namun .....

CONs:
-pengetahuan mgkn tidak sebesar di London (london selama lo kerja chances are lo dapet the global view), dan most importantly,...
-tabungan dari gaji lo kecil.. hihihihih... (unless lo emang start ur business, kalo gini income bisa nembus langit)...tapi di umur kita, we're still likely to work for someone else dulu.... and salaries sometimes just aren't enough.

These are just some comparable reasons from a whole lot more..

btw.. ini gedung Merril Lynch di Tokyo.. so gak ada hubungannya sama Jakarta ataupun London.. hahhahhaha
